After growing up in Charleston, Lloyd graduated from Carnegie-Melon University in Pittsburgh, PA with a Bachelors of Architecture. His practice of Architecture with other firms and with his own firms has resulted in successful building projects throughout West Virginia, many of which have been recognized for design excellence. As a member and president of the West Virginia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects Lloyd facilitated the locating of the AIA-WV office in downtown Charleston and assisted in the adoption of the West Virginia Design Build Procurement Act. His appointment to the West Virginia Board of Architects led to the presidency of the licensing board. Lloyd is a member of the Construction Specification Institute through which he has earned the honor of Certified Construction Specifier. He also was instrumental in starting “Canstruction” in West Virginia with AIA-WV and Covenant House and is still an organizing participant.
Active in the community, Lloyd has participated with Kanawha County Schools on need assessment committees, and has provided design and construction administration assistance to the YWCA, Covenant House, RCCR, the City of Charleston, and other agencies.
Currently Lloyd is focusing his practice on Design Counseling; assisting clients to delivery building projects large and small, residential and commercial, private and public. The professional services provided can be as a consultant on specific issues as needed on an hourly basis through full architectural services for complete building delivery.
